About Candlewide

A Candle Designed with Respect for Fire

Candlewide was created from a simple but demanding idea:
to design a candle that preserves the presence and beauty of a living flame, while respecting the true nature of fire.
Fire has always been part of human life.
It offers warmth, calm, and connection — but it also requires awareness and responsibility.
Candlewide does not attempt to remove this reality.
Instead, it is designed with respect for open flame, supporting controlled, predictable burning when used as intended.

Why Candlewide Exists

I wanted a candle with a flame that is truly visible — wide, calm, and alive.
Not a small, flickering point that disappears after a short time.
At the same time, I wanted a system that would not treat a candle as a disposable object, but as a long-lasting design element.
Candlewide was developed to bring balance between flame, material, and form.
A candle that can be used, refilled, and enjoyed repeatedly — without unnecessary waste and without compromising on design.

A System, Not a Disposable Object

Candlewide is not a single product, but a refillable ceramic candle system.
It consists of:

  • a permanent, heat-resistant ceramic body
  • a replaceable burning insert
  • a wide-wick flame engineered for calm, even burning

These elements are designed together to work as one.
When the refill is used, it is replaced — not the candle itself.
The system remains the same, while the experience evolves naturally:

  • different interiors
  • different occasions
  • different times of day

The candle adapts through use, not through replacement.

Designed for Controlled Burning — Not False Promises

Open fire is never without risk, and it should not be presented as such.
Candlewide is engineered to support stable flame behaviour, even heat distribution, and calm burning — not to eliminate responsibility, but to reduce common instabilities found in conventional candles.
The wide-wick system, ceramic form, and carefully selected materials work together as a single, integrated system.
When used correctly, they help avoid uneven melting, excessive soot, and unpredictable flame behaviour, supporting a more composed and mindful candle experience.

Materials Chosen with Intention

Candlewide products are made without plastic, paraffin, palm oil, or soy.
The burning materials and wick fibres are 100% plant-based and renewable, selected for controlled performance and consistency.
The ceramic body is designed to endure heat, time, and repeated use without degradation.
Every material choice reflects a long-term perspective — prioritising durability, responsibility, and clarity over convenience.

The Story Behind the Design

I am the creator of Candlewide, with long-term experience in large-scale candle production and quality management.
Over the years, I have seen how candles are often designed for speed, cost, and disposability — not for longevity, responsibility, or meaningful use.
Candlewide brings together everything I have learned:
production realities, material behaviour, flame dynamics, and quality control — combined with a deep respect for fire as a living element.
This candle carries my experience, my curiosity, and my commitment to continuous improvement.

A Living System, Always Evolving

Candlewide is not a finished idea.
Development continues, and feedback is welcomed.
By using Candlewide, you become part of that process — helping refine a system designed to last, evolve, and remain honest about what fire is and what it requires.

Founder’s Note

Candlewide was created by Tarvo Moss, drawing on long-term experience in large-scale candle production and quality management.
The system reflects years of working with flame behaviour, materials, and manufacturing realities — combined with a deep respect for fire as a living element.

Thank you for choosing Candlewide —
and for treating the living flame with the respect it deserves.
